Screeners
Eight professional-grade screens that surface the best setups in the market every day.
Treida ships with eight screeners, each built around a specific edge. They run automatically after the close on a filtered universe of liquid, tradable stocks — then feed the AI Watchlist Curator for the next session.
The universe
Every screener runs against the Treida Universe — a base list of ~1,000 stocks that pass minimum quality filters:
- Market cap > $300M
- Average daily dollar volume > $500k
- Price > $5
- Listed on a major US exchange (NYSE, NASDAQ)
This keeps microcaps and illiquid names out of your results automatically.
The eight screens
1. 21-Day Moving Average Pullback
Stocks in strong uptrends pulling back to their 21 DMA on lighter volume — a classic continuation setup. Filters: price within 1 ADR of 21 DMA, higher highs/lows structure intact.
2. 10-Day Moving Average Momentum
Fast-moving leaders consolidating tightly along their 10 DMA. Shorter timeframe than 21DMA; catches stocks in the sharpest phase of a move.
3. 52-Week High Breakouts
Names pushing into new 52-week high territory — the cleanest form of leadership. Separates true breakouts from extended stocks by checking base quality and volume.
4. Highest Volume Leaders
Stocks with the highest combined price strength and relative volume. Useful for finding where institutional money is moving today.
5. VCP (Volatility Contraction Pattern)
Minervini’s setup: a series of tightening pullbacks as supply dries up before a breakout. Filters: price > 150/200 SMA, ADR > 4%, within 30% of 52-week high.
6. Liquid Leaders
The O’Neil / Qullamaggie cross-section — high-liquidity stocks with top-decile relative strength in their industry. Where most of the big winners come from.
7. Leader Pivot
Extended leaders that have pulled back hard and are forming a new pivot. Catches names that were stretched from their 21 DMA, retraced, and are now setting up again.
8. Highest Volume
Simple but powerful — highest relative volume in the universe. Good for finding news-driven moves and early institutional accumulation.
How to use them
- Check the market regime first — in a downtrend, even the best screener results are low-probability
- Look for overlap — stocks showing up in multiple screens (e.g., VCP + 52W Breakout) are the highest-conviction setups
- Let the AI narrow it down — the AI Watchlist Curator reads all screen results and picks the top 3–5 for you
Each screener page supports sorting, filtering by industry, and a click-through to the full stock detail page.
